Willapa Bay paintings are based on the Chinese myth of Indra's Net. An immense net that extends through out the universe and links and connects everything. The idea that the universe and human beings are inherently connected underlies my work. These paintings were made during an Artists Residency at Willapa Bay.

Its dimensions are 30"x30" square.

I am interested in the interplay of art and science. I prepare for my paintings by spending some time in the night sky of the desert (or distanced from city lights) and by exploring and attempting to understand and then give form to such scientific concepts as gravity and time. Specifically, I attempt to imagine our universe as if I am outside of it and looking at it from a distance. My work is an effort to give form to these hypothetical vistas and concepts.

My creative process includes meditation. I work out images as I see them in my mind’s eye and through direct observation.
