Our Commitment to Gender-free Jewelry
WEND seeks to re-define gender stereotypes in the jewelry industry. Traditionally, jewelry is ‘gendered’, with certain pieces marketed for men (basic wedding bands, leather corded necklaces, cufflinks, large watches, etc.) and certain types marketed for women (solitaire diamond engagement rings, fragile necklaces, bangle bracelets, etc.).
Gender roles are thrust upon us from before we are born. We’ll dress her in pink and him in blue. We’ll give her barbies, and him little green Army men. She’ll excel in art, and he’ll excel in math. And, on and on.
Thankfully, many families are breaking these traditions, and encouraging the next generation to be themselves. Hopefully you are exactly where you want to be.
Putting people and inclusivity first is a core value at WEND. Why should the traditional fine jewelry industry determine which pieces are for whom? WEND Jewelry never presumes to make this choice for you.
At WEND, there is no distinction between masculine and feminine jewelry. There just doesn’t need to be. Gender shouldn’t define jewelry, and jewelry shouldn’t define gender.
