Imperfect Portraits Painting Class - Thursday, June 23, 6:30-9pm
Using charcoal, watercolor, pen and ink, we'll create portraits with an emphasis on the imperfect. Allowing ourselves to play and let go of “perfect”, we'll create using colors, lines, and movement. It's about letting go of expectations, enjoying the process, playing, and accepting the outcome with joy, or at least some laughter.
All proceeds and extra donations will go to Life Ansanm / The Olive Tree Project Hospital and Birthing Center in Cap Rouge Haiti.
This class is offered with an equitable pricing model:
What Will You Learn?
- Basic tools, mediums, and techniques for watercolor and ink paintings.
- How to create portraits; the difference between creating a ‘perfect’ portrait and one that has balance, but is abstracted.
- How to allow your heart and hands to create.
- How to shut off the ‘edit’ button.
What Will You Need?
All materials and tools will be provided to use in class and some to take home. Feel free to bring an apron or gloves if you’re prone to being messy (although a majority of materials are not permanent and will wash out of clothes).
Anna Hooser is a Seattle based painter with a messy and imperfect life and the drive to enjoy every moment of it. Her genuine desire to love people where they are at is the driving force for her portraits and floral paintings and her tendency to color outside the lines. www.annahooser.com, @annahooser.art
