Fusing imagery with poetry and layering star charts with landscapes, these metallic prints are a collection of what began as love notes to myself and are now a love letter to you. My grandfather was an atmospheric physicist, and my earliest memories are of studying the night sky, counting stars with him. Since I can remember, I’ve been enamored with the notion that the stars are always shining, but we can’t always see them because the brilliance of the sun obscures their light. As astrophysicist, Carl Sagan says, “We are made of star stuff. The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars.” How brilliant is this?
