Now Showing at WEND Gallery September 12th - October 26th

The quick and natural pencil strokes from my older sketches inspired me to recreate them in these pieces. The warmth and humanity of that method always appealed to me, and I wanted to see if it could be applied to my updated medium of digital drawing using Procreate on the iPad. In order to achieve the desired effect, I experimented with different brush settings and blending tools. Ultimately, I'm pleased with the results and am eager to share my work. The first piece I created in this series is “Dandelions”, which are like suns growing beneath our feet, and was inspired by my own mother's love, support, and warmth. Those in my life who show compassion to others inspire me greatly. In gathering references for these pieces, I let these feelings guide me: strength, guidance, and protectiveness.

My hope is that as you view these drawings, you will feel the same strength from the women and flowers depicted. May you take in the perseverance they each display to stand tall, continue to grow, and Live Tenderly.
